VALU means 8 in Samoan, but to me it means much more. 

My family tells stories to remember love lost and remind us of the love we share for each other. Stories of my grandparent’s selflessness, groundedness, and faith as they navigated a new life in America. Stories about my Uncle Sal, who carried on the family tradition of wearing 8 on his jersey. I’d hear stories of his athletic feats, but when my dad told me about his kindness and unfailing leadership I was inspired to wear the number forever.

When I see VALU tattooed on my wrist I am reminded of the struggles, success, and countless stories that have guided my path and serve as the foundation of my character.

When you wear your VALU, I hope that you are reminded

to attract LOVE and light into your life, and
